Increase Your Backyard’s Cozy Factor With These Projects Under $100

Lighter Side of Real Estate • November 10, 2022

Fall is a great time to enjoy your outdoor space. But as the temperatures cool and the days get shorter, you may find yourself wanting to transform your backyard from a more summery vibe to a more cozy, comfortable retreat for fall.

The good news is, you don’t need to break the bank to make that transformation!

recent article from realtor.com outlined projects homeowners can tackle this fall to make their backyards feel more cozy—for $100 or less!—including:

  • Create a cozy ambiance with fairy lights. Lighting can completely change the look and feel of a space. And if you want to make your backyard feel more cozy, there’s no better (or more affordable!) lighting option than fairy lights. Consider hanging fairy lights from trees in your yard, adding lights to the perimeter of your space (for example, on the fence), or lining the pathways in your backyard or garden.
  • Add a patio mirror. Many people consider mirrors an indoor decor item. But they work just as well outdoors! A mirror can make your patio space feel more cozy and purposeful—and can actually make a small patio space feel larger.
  • Add a bamboo canopy. Adding a canopy can help define an outdoor space and make it feel cozier—not to mention provide protection no matter what kind of weather autumn throws at you (canopies provide shade from the sun and protection from light rain). Consider a bamboo version, which not only looks stylish and cozy—but is also extremely cost-friendly.
